Making time for a trip downtown to your nearest Providence gym isn’t always an option. You’re hard pressed for time, and would love to have a home gym, so you can exercise at your leisure. Luckily, you don’t really need a lot of designing or setting up to turn your basement into a home gym. What is important is that your basement be ventilated and brightly lit, preferably with mirrors all around. A bathroom with shower facilities is an absolute must and so is a small changing room if you can section one area of the gym off. Make sure all gym equipment is installed a fair distance away from each other. Set up a music system, and a CD player for exercise video watching as your exercise.

We have approximately 800 unfinished square feet in our basement. We are looking for estmiates... the ceilings are too low (it used to be an outdoor cellar), you have to duck your head under the doorway on your way down the stairs, we have 4 windows that need to be replaced (maybe make 2 of them egress windows, we would like to add a bedroom, a rec room and a bathroom down there, along with a storage space and possibly a laundry area. We also have a large crawl space around the perimeter. Our home is 100 years old, and we are looking to stay with the craftsman style of the home. Thanks.
